Clinical Beliefs
Clinical Beliefs
Genevieve is currently accepting adult Clients of all ages. She is well versed in counseling modalities and practices integrative therapy which combines different therapeutic tools and approaches tailored to fit the needs of the individual client. She uses a holistic method which considers the relationship between mind, body, and spirit.

Those experiencing difficulties due to trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, aging, grief, or experiencing life transitions may find Genevieve to be a good fit. Genevieve also works with those who find themselves avoiding difficult emotions or obligations by engaging in unhelpful coping (such as drinking, eating, working, achieving, gambling and so on). Genevieve sees obligations we avoid as much more than simple procrastination, but also setting boundaries, speaking assertively on our own behalf and attending to relationships.

She has also led empowerment, spirituality, and other varied trainings and workshops. She is well equipped to incorporate expressive arts in therapy due to her undergraduate degree in Art Therapy (Genevieve is not a board certified Art Therapist in Virginia).

Genevieve also worked heavily in public health at the height of the pandemic. Being from New York Genevieve has many close experiences to the weight the pandemic can have on our mental and physical health. She is able to work closely with those who have suffered from the pandemic.
